Chicken Soup

Ingredient:

1 whole chicken, 1 med. onion, chopped, 1 1/2 tsp. basil, 1 tsp. rubbed sage, 1 bay leaf, 4 carrots sliced, 3 sticks celery chopped, 1 1/2 c. egg noodles, salt, pepper.


Method:

Put chicken in a large pot or a slow cooker. Then, cover with cold water, add onion, basil, sage, bay leaf and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt. Cover and simmer until chicken falls apart. Remove chicken, set aside until cool. The next thing you need to do, discard skin and bones, break meat into bite size pieces, return to soup. Add carrots and celery, simmer until vegetables are tender. Add noodles and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, cook for 20 minutes.
